Theme 1 - ARC Training Centre in Predictive Breeding

Exploring multi-omics resources to improve prediction

Genomic prediction frameworks.

The overarching goal of Theme 1 is to develop new methodologies for each of the major genomic prediction frameworks to enable integration of multi-omics data for improved prediction accuracy of complex breeding traits.

Objectives:

Develop methodologies to integrate multi-omics data to improve prediction of performance across species

Investigate approaches that utilise low-cost alternative multi-omic data in routine breeding applications

Equip students and industry with skills to efficiently handle complex data and deploy new prediction frameworks

Theme 1 example projects

project

Combining drone-captured phenotypes and genomic prediction to optimise clonal selection in sugarcane

project

Epi-bunch: accelerating clonal selection for grapevine using (epi)genomics

project
